We use evidence-based practices, research and insights to ensure our students receive the most engaging and robust learning experiences possible.

Through our quality assurance processes, we engage with students, alumni, employees and communities to align our curriculum with NIC Education Council policies, the college’s strategic plans and standards set by the BC Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

Reports and background

As a post-secondary institution in BC, NIC participates in a Quality Assurance Process Audit (QAPA) once every seven to eight years, as set out by the province’s independent Degree Quality Assessment Board

We submitted our Official NIC QAPA report in September 2023.

Program review

In addition to QAPA, NIC regularly undergoes program reviews to assess curriculum, student experience, teaching practices, instructor qualifications and more. Students, faculty and alumni are invited to provide their feedback and suggestions to improve programs and/or program areas.

Check out our program review schedule

Both QAPA and program review processes are led by NIC’s Centre for Teaching and Learning Innovation
