Dates and deadlines
When to apply
Applications open at the beginning of October each year for the following academic year. Apply early to your program of choice. Applications are processed by order of date received.
If you're applying to NIC from outside of Canada, please go to International dates and deadlines.
Application deadlines
Limited-entry programs
If you're applying to a limited-entry program, applications close approximately one week before the program start date. If you're eligible but seats are full, we'll place you on a waitlist. Admissions will contact you when a seat becomes available.
Unlimited-entry programs/courses
If you're applying to an unlimited-entry program, you can apply up until approximately the second week into the term start.
If seats are full, you can join a waitlist. When a seat becomes available you'll automatically be registered and receive an email confirmation of registration.

How seats are offered
Seats are offered based on both the date your application is received and the date you meet the program/course prequisites.
