NIC criminology instructor Geri Bemister is the recipient of the 2019 Courage To Come Back Award for Addiction.

The Courage to Come Back Awards are presented each year by the Coast Mental Health Foundation, a Vancouver-based non-profit that provides housing, employment and education opportunities and support services for those struggling with mental illness.
