Janice Green

Faculty/Departments: Human Services
Positions/Titles: Faculty
Area of Expertise: Essential Skills, Human Service Worker
I am a lifelong learner and educator. I have devoted volunteer time to three boards and one guiding team over many years; Port Alberni Craft Association, Indigenous Adult and Higher Learning Association (B.C.), AV-FASD Board, and the Indigenous Skills 4 Success Studio (The Studio), B.C./Yukon.
I am a tutor, a post-secondary instructor, a facilitator for Skills 4 Success, and a coordinator for special projects and Nuu-chah-nulth studies at an independent, First Nations elementary school.
My self-care includes beading and weaving.  I am guided by the ways that creative, cultural expressions come to me. My husband and I live in Port Alberni. Our lives revolve around gathering and processing seasonal foods, materials, and medicines.  Our family supports people on their healthy paths through personal and family conversations, along with the volunteer work we do in our community.
