Level up your skills to work in photovoltaic (PV) solar panel installation. Our courses focus on hands-on learning to prepare you to work in the growing solar and renewable energy sector. This program is a great addition to previous building or electrical trades training, but no previous experience is required.
This is a non-credit program offered through Continuing Education and Training.This program is funded by the Province of British Columbia.

Overview
Solar panel installation skills are increasingly sought after in the building trades, including electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
This program is an opportunity for current tradespeople and apprentices to advance their careers with their current employer or find other opportunities. The program is also a good option for those just breaking into the renewable energy sector.
The accelerated curriculum covers important topics like site safety, system components and configurations, solar system design principles, installation and more.

Schedule
The next cohort runs from Sept. 17-26, 2025.
Classes are in-person and fun from 8:30 am to 4:40 pm, Monday to Friday.

Graduates already working or completing apprenticeships in the building trades will find enhanced career options within their own company or though new opportunities with renewable energy employers.
